Vintage Peter Green Lemon Drop Les Paul

This is an pretty close copy of Peter Greens famous "Lemon Drop" Les Paul

I don't know what it is about this guitar but it is really fun to play. It has out of phase pickups which really replicates that Peter Green sound. And even though it's not a Gibson, it plays well and sounds great. Scroll down farther and see what I finally did with this guitar.

I didn't really like how the back to the guitar looked. They had tried to relic it but it just looked like someone took a belt sander to it. I stripped the wine colored finish off the back and sides and shot  a couple of coats of clear nitro. With the dings, scraps and sand thorough areas,  it looks  as genuine as a twenty year old guitar, and it's a pretty nice piece of mahogany under there! Here's how it turned out:

Here's what it used to look like - I should have taken a pic before I started.

PART Deux

Well I did such a good job on the back I decided to do the top as well. Not to stop at just re-finishing the top, I replaced the pickups with Gibson Burstbucker #1 and #2, and swapped out all the pots, switches and jacks. This is now a real player.
