Walnut and Rosewood Telecaster

This is my latest project, A walnut body and a solid rosewood neck. Well here we go. Instead of using the traditional grain fillers out in the market, I'm going to use John Catto's epoxy method. I pre-fit all the hardware, neck and electronics before starting the re-finishing. The hardest part about this project was taking it apart after it was together and I had played it for a couple of weeks [had to be sure all the parts fit, :-) ]. The first shots are just after I had sanded it with a 320 dry and then several washes of naptha to remove any finger oils and some of the natural oils. The second is just after working in the first coat of epoxy.

Just before putting the epoxy on.

The hard part was mixxing such small amount of epoxy.

The front is looking good!

This is after sanding with 320 - too much?

This is after sanding with 320 - too much???

Too much epoxy? Or, too much sanding?

This after 3 coats of clear nitro

It's starting to take shape!
